The neurosurgical robot Remebot RM-200 has been introduced at the Karagandy hospital named after Professor Khafiz Makazhanov – the first device of its kind in Kazakhstan. It will help doctors perform surgeries with precision beyond a millimeter.

The Remebot RM-200 is equipped with artificial intelligence and can not only perform surgical actions but also analyze data and upload it into the system. The first planned procedures include intracranial biopsies and the removal of brain tumors. The equipment was purchased with local budget funds and will soon begin operating in the hospital’s surgical rooms.

Implementing new technologies will allow us to perform more than 300 high-tech neurosurgical procedures per year. Moreover, it will increase the safety and accuracy of surgeries, reduce invasiveness, and shorten hospitalization times, – shared the hospital’s director, Erkin-Dauir Kurmangaliyev.

Earlier, doctors from Karagandy underwent training in China, where the same systems are already implemented and in use. With the help of the robot, new opportunities are opening up for local neurosurgeons.
