Google has expanded language support for its AI model Gemini by adding the Kazakh language. Users in Kazakhstan can now access AI tools in their mother tongue to generate text, search for information, and complete a wide range of everyday tasks.
This marks an important milestone: Gemini is the first large-scale AI model officially available in Kazakh.
Kazakh is among 23 new languages added ahead of the release of Gemini 3, currently Google’s most advanced AI model. According to Google, users can now access Gemini’s full capabilities in Kazakh on the same level as widely used global languages.
At the moment, the Kazakh-language interface is available through the web version of Gemini. To activate it, users need to select Kazakh in their Google Account language settings.
Mobile versions for Android and iOS, as well as Gemini Live — a real-time conversational AI feature — are expected to be launched in the near future.
The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the addition of the Kazakh language to Google’s Gemini AI, emphasizing that localization will contribute to the wider adoption of artificial intelligence technologies among Kazakh-speaking citizens.
Earlier, the Tamyr Platform reported that Google had expanded Gemini’s language support in Central Asia by making the AI model available in Uzbek. Localization has allowed users to interact with AI tools in their mother tongue — to generate text, support learning, and manage everyday tasks.
