Kazakhstan now has 43 fast charging stations, ensuring comfortable and safe travel for electric car owners. The network includes stations with capacities ranging from 90 to 320 kW.
These charging points are located along key transport routes connecting the country’s regions, allowing electric cars to move freely across the main transport corridors.
Main Routes and Number of Charging Stations
The development of a charging station network supports the use of environmentally friendly transport, improves convenience for electric car drivers, and shapes modern road infrastructure.
Kazakhstan’s first electric charging station was installed in Almaty in 2016, followed by Astana in 2017. Since then, the country’s infrastructure for electric cars has been developing steadily. In 2023, the government approved a roadmap to establish charging facilities in all major cities by 2029. The initiative outlines regulatory and technical standards, plans for domestic production of charging equipment, and the assessment of demand and locations for future stations.
