The EUROBAK CSR Awards 2025 ceremony took place in Almaty and was organized by the European Business Association of Kazakhstan. The Smart Plastic Zone project won in the “Ecology” category.

The initiative helps companies reduce their plastic footprint through diagnostic assessments, the implementation of alternative materials, waste sorting and recycling, and employee education.

The Smart Plastic Zone program has become a local example of an ESG tool that unites the public and private sectors. Businesses — from hotels to offices, schools, and cafes, undergo an assessment through a questionnaire and verification process. Since the project launched in March 2025, more than 50 organizations across Kazakhstan have joined.

This year, 37 applications were submitted by member companies of the association. The competition featured several categories: corporate social responsibility, ecology, staff development, IT and modernization, marketing, and PR. The winners were selected by an independent panel, and their names were announced at the ceremony.
