SignBridge has completed its project on the developent of Kazakh Sign Language with the support of the Tamyr Platform Accelerator and the EA Charity fund. From November 2024 to March 2025, the team made significant progress in scaling its operations and developing an automated translation system using a 3D avatar.

At the first stage, SignBridge introduced new equipment for recording sign language. The project utilized a sensory suit, specialized gloves, and a head-mounted camera to capture body movements with high precision. Previously, translations were based on recorded videos; now, the system operates using a 3D avatar, which significantly improves the quality and consistency of translation.

During the project, the hardware base was fully upgraded and expanded. To date, the database includes more than 577 gestures across 21 categories.

The technology was tested in practice on the educational platform Skills Enbek. As part of the pilot, SignBridge adapted the course “Technical Engineering”, a basic sewing course. The course, which has already been accessed by more than 200 users, was translated into Kazakh Sign Language using a 3D avatar.
