The launch of Solana Economic Zone Kazakhstan (SEZ KZ), the first Central Asian economic zone built on the Solana blockchain platform, took place in Astana on May 28. The event happened just ahead of the Astana International Forum 2025.
The event was made possible with the support of the Solana Foundation, Intebix, and Forma, and it brought together representatives of government bodies, international experts, and leaders of the Web3 ecosystem and next-generation internet concepts.
“Our goal is to build a sustainable and competitive digital environment. The Solana Economic Zone and similar projects create opportunities to test and implement new approaches, from token activation in Web3 to developing human capital,” said Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry.
SEZ KZ will operate as a special economic zone, enabling tokenization of assets such as stocks, gold, and real estate on the Solana blockchain. Cooperation between the AIX stock exchange, the Jupiter aggregator, and the Intebix platform enables dual listing, through traditional IPOs on AIX and tokenized offerings on the Solana blockchain.
Moreover, the event concluded with the launch of an educational program aimed at supporting Web3 talent in collaboration with Astana Hub and attracting global Web3 startups.
