Production center and independent theatre Transforma announces enrollment for its directing course, supported by Tamyr Platform. This edcational project will become part of the online learning platform Transforma Online Lab.
The Directing Fundamentals course is an intensive program designed for those already involved in theatre who want to systematize their professional thinking. It is ideal for directors, actors, producers, art managers, creative students, and anyone seeking their place in the arts.
The program is curated by Transforma’s director, Yaroslav Maximenko. The course will run from April 20 to June 10.
The start of this course fills me with happiness and excitement.I enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with those who are searching, who feel it might be helpful. I clearly remember myself at the beginning of my journey in directing, it was intuitive, and I relied solely on my feelings, constantly waiting for inspiration. That was when I began to realize that this profession must have a structure, processes and mechanisms grounded in logic and analysis, not just emotion.However, I didn’t know where to begin. How do you find the right materials? What do you say to your team? How do you stay true to the main idea all the way to the premiere?When I finally discovered these methods and understood the mechanisms, I felt that I could navigate the process, and that’s when I began to feel confident starting something new.Now, I truly want to share the right words and ideas with those who will join the course, shared Yaroslav.
Over the course of two months, residents of Transforma Online Lab will explore the fundamental mechanisms of directing, learn how to conduct analysis, and transform ideas into structured concepts. Each week, students will receive one video lesson, complete a practical assignment, and participate in online sessions with the curator to deepen their practice. Upon completion of thecourse, five participants will have the opportunity to travel to Almaty and take part in the creation of a performance at Transforma.
Transforma Theatre was also a finalist of the Tamyr Platform Accelerator 2025, organized by the corporate fund EA Charity.
