The Kazakh edition of National Geographic recognized the work of Nurzada Amangeldy, founder of the SignBridge project for the development of Kazakh Sign Language, as part of the international National Geographic 33 initiative.

National Geographic 33 is a National Geographic initiative inspired by the 33 academics, researchers, and innovators who founded the National Geographic Society in 1888. The project celebrates individuals who are making a meaningful contribution to the advancement of science, technology, environmental protection, and social change.

To mark its 10th anniversary, National Geographic Qazaqstan launched its first local initiative aimed at highlighting people in Kazakhstan whose work reflects the values of National Geographic 33. Nurzada Amangeldy, founder of the SignBridge project, became the initiative’s ambassador.

It is an honor for me that initiatives such as the National Geographic Qazaqstan Ambassador program recognize people whose work lies at the intersection of science, technology, and social impact. I would also like to express my special thanks to the EA Charity Fund for supporting projects and ideas aimed at advancing education and building a more inclusive society.
